I love finding someone who loves great deals just like me. This is a great website and I’ve already started spreading the word with my friends. I’ve been an avid couponer for over 30 years and I still love it. Keep the great ideas coming! By the way, love the website design.
Welcome Colleen and thanks for sharing me with your friends! Oh that didn’t come out right! Hehehehe. 30 years couponing experience!?! Your hired. Enjoy DiscountDame.com and don’t hesitate to email, comment, or send smoke signals if you have any questions.

Awe Mariana you are too sweet! Glad to have you as a reader!
We comparrision shop, use coupons (though I’m still learning) and the like. Also, never, NEVER grocery shop hungry and stick to the outside walls of the stores – all the fresh stuff is there so no preservatives and the like.
Never shopping hungry is a good tip! I try to keep to the outside edges of the store as well…but our frozen whole grain waffles are right across the aisle from the chip section…I think Safeway is trying to sabotage my diet! Hehehe
When grocery shopping I love to use coupons on sale items
Isn’t matching a coupon up with a sale the best feeling ever?!?
I use coupons and watch for sale items.
Always a good idea!
I use coupons on items at my favorite grocery stores when they are on sale and I use my customer card which usually gets me the item for free.
My favorite money saving tip is to shop farmer’s markets for produce. Prices are usually cheaper than any grocery store with perhaps the exception of Aldi’s!
I used to shop farmers markets as well because of the low prices, but now that I use the Safeway J4U program I get my produce MUCH cheaper there…and it seems to last longer.
shop sales and use coupons
I make a list of the best sales each week from local ads. Then, when I am out and about, I stop at specific stores for specific items, then stock up!
Great advice Sarah! Stocking up when prices are low will save you so much money…nothing is more expensive than that last minute run to the drug store because your out of something.
always do your reearch before you go be prepared and keep organized
Helen you are a gal after my own heart. Organization is key! Be sure you click on over to my beginner’s guide section and check out my articles and videos on coupon organization.
Id say make a menu plan, I like to do an inventory of all my meats and make a plan from there/.
Planning out your menu for the week is a GREAT way to save, people don’t realize how much food gets thrown away each week! That’s just money in the can! I try to plan my menu so that each day’s meals piggy-back off the last. We BBQ’d night before last so last night the left over steak morphed into steak burritos. Left over scrambled eggs work great in fried rice…the possibilities are endless!
I always pair coupons with sales!
I’m all about the coupons and sale matchups!
Me too Danielle!
may not seem like a lot, but line drying, and using wool dryer balls. saves electricity, the sun is FREE!
Free and Green! Way to save money and the environment Amy!
Be flexible with your budget so that you can stock up on items when they are on sale. For example, i went over budget this month to stock up on butter – going in the freezer – , since it was on sale for $2/lb; and stocked up on olive oil since with sale and coupon it was 50% off – and I bought enough to last for quite a while.
This way your dollars can buy more!
Ha! I have a fridge full of Country Crock! You are a girl after my own heart Hannah!
The one money saving tip I always tell my wife to use is to always eat BEFORE she goes grocery shopping. If you aren’t hungry you will not be tempted by all of the overpriced snacks.
I make sure my hubby and son are fed if they decide to tag along, otherwise…they are budget blowers!
Use a free coupon with a BOGO offer, doubling your savings!
I try to go shopping WITHOUT my children — they end up adding lots to the shopping cart! And the bill!
Never go shopping without a list to save money! Coupons help a lot, too.
I use my mycokerewards points to get restaurant.com certificates and use them when we go on vacation. I also look for printable coupons for potential attractions and food places for where we’re going.
Never take kids shopping with you…you will save a TON of money!!
My favorite way to save money is to always check online coupons before going drug store or grocery shopping!
get a lot of school shopping done on tax free weekend. Shop on double/triple coupon weekends and stock up!
I tell myself to only buy things that we will use!
I have just become addicted to internet freebies but am hoping to learn more about couponing! Thanks!

Put all the extra money you earn in the bank so you won’t be tempted to spend when you see something you want or even if you are you won’t have it so you can’t !

There are so many good tips that I try and follow, but my newest thing is going to be making my own laundry soap. Cant wait to try it out
Will be going from spending around $5-$7 a month on soap to $5-$7 for 6-9 months or more
Definitely couponing.. especially on double value days. But also shopping at thrift stores or stocking up during a sale
I always stack coupons when possible
I shop clearance racks first and I never grocery shop without coupons. I also like to grocery shop without the kids and husband as they seem to get things we don’t always need.

i didnt know about the outsides of the store but what i do is use coupons when possible and look for sales
i use coupons and match them up with sales to maximize savings, i also stockpile when things are cheap so i never have to pay full price!
Buy things when the price is right, stock up, instead of waiting till you run out and paying full price. I also prefer to be brand flexible. What ever is the best bargain if the quality is comparable.

buy in bulk!
Groupons for trips to the restaurant.
My tip is eat at home! Don’t go out and waste money!
I comparison shop and end up buying a lot of household products on the internet.
Be flexible when you shop! Lists and organization is great, but store unadvertised specials and marked down products will save you money often in thearea of fresh fruit/veggies and the meat counter. The trick is being flexible
I actually need help in the money saving department. I try to use coupons as often as possible but have TONS more to learn to save me some real money. One way I save money when it comes to things for my baby is buying through my Co-Op group here on Facebook. I was able to get her some leg warmers for only 2.75 per pair compared to 7.50 regular price.
Pairing coupons with sales at a store that doubles coupons.
My favorite money saving tip is to use leftovers, all leftovers.
I just started couponing a few weeks ago, and by far it is the best way to save money that I know of! It makes shopping more fun too – it’s like a game to me!
I look at sale flyers weekly and match with coupons.
I like to follow blogs both on facebook and through email! I’d love to attend a seminar that would be helpful as well

I am new to the whole couponing thing but it seems so exciting to me
and I always compare when I shop.
Always, always plan before grocery shopping. And be flexible with your menu. Base meals on what’s on sale this week, don’t go with a pre-decided menu before you even check out the ad
sometimes off brands are cheaper than sales or coupon items.
Shop sales…buy in bulk
