Party On! Friday: 4th of July Party Ideas with Patriotic Pizzazz

Happy Birthday America!  It’s time to deck our halls with stars and stripes, fire up the grill, slice the watermelon, march in a parade and wave our flags!  The 4th of July has always been one of my favorite holidays, especially once I got my licensed and stopped riding in the back seat of my dad’s classic cars and started being able to actually drive them in our towns Fourth of July Parade!  But enough about me, let’s talk about you and the beautiful 4th you’ll have thanks to these amazingly easy and inexpensive ideas I’ve found for you.  You’ll be the talk of the town, in a good way this time ;)

Decorations

I’ve taught you how to make Tissue Paper Pom-Pons before, but these are their bigger, beefier brothers the Vinyl Table Cloth Outdoor Pom-Pons!

Helpful hint: Dollar Tree offers up table clothes for $1 each or you can head to Party City which offers up rolls of vinyl table-cloth cut to your size requirement.

Turn plain streamers into Star Spangled Streamers with just scissors, we all made paper doll chains as a kid…why didn’t we think of that?

Looking for a way to jazz up those condiment dispensers?  Or turn some red, white and blue cupcake liners into 4th of July badges?  Or maybe you’ve got cupcakes that need decorating or you’d just like to dangle some patriotic sayings on strings from the patio so they twist and turn in the breeze…well I’ve got all of those bases covered with these FREE 4th of July Printables!

Menu

We all know your BBQ will be fired up with your favorite salad and sides, I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel here so I’ll skip over the potato salad recipes and how to put a hotdog on a bun clichés.  Below you will find a few show stopping accents to your traditional outdoor meal.

Quench your patriotic party goers thirst with this beautiful and refreshing, and very easy to make Patriotic Punch.

If your going to spend the day at the park, or headed out to the fireworks display in the evening be sure to pack these Patriotic Cake In a Jar treats for your group!  Delightfully portable, you can’t help but want to make these in every color combination known to man!

Having over a few to many people to make individual cakes in Mason jars?  Or maybe you love the element of surprise…either way this Hidden Flag Cake is the prefect finish to any 4th of July celebration!

Cake not your thing?  No problem, serve up some of these Red, White, and Delicious Chocolate Covered Strawberries!

For The Kids

Looking for a way to keep the kids entertained?  Grab some fun (and inexpensive) art supplies and let the kids create a 4th of July Bike Parade with these easy ideas.  Just be sure to tell their parents it BOYB…Bring Your Own Bike!

Now that the Bike Parade is over you can offer up some fun in the form of yard games!  Hopscotch made from blue painters tape or side-walk chalk works great, and don’t forget classics like Red Rover (fun for adults as well), Hide and Go Seek, and this Home Made Bean Bag Toss Game!  The great thing is you can use this again and again at kid’s birthday parties and school carnivals!

Time for the grand finale!  Sparklers are a lot of fun…but not suitable for younger guests, and even illegal in some areas.  So be sure to keep little hands safe and happy with these Kid Safe Paper Sparklers!
